j’aime le francais

francais

J. Crew is giving me the French lesson I never had. Each season, I seem to learn a new word. I even know the days of the week (thanks to this tee!) Expanded vocab and heaping t-shirt drawer…pretty much how it goes. This week’s dose of pretty is all about le francais. But instead of the hard to find pharmacie finds, you can easily find these items right here at home.

Ca Va? a.k.a. how’s it going? Sounds so much chicer in French, yes? I love this girly baseball tee that is begging to be worn with a pair of boyfriend jeans. // Marissa at BeauTea Bar introduced me to the eco chic brand Studio 78 Paris. The powders come with a mirror in the lid (smart!) and their liquid lipstick is made with avocado and plant oils! The colors are intense, in a good way. //The French got in on cleansing balms way before it became a thing here…Darphin is one of the most luxurious. // Every French pharmacie is stuffed with Caudalie. Luckily, so are Sephoras. I want to drench myself in all things Divine…especially this scrub. // Cleansing waters are all the rage in France. Bioderma is hard to get in the U.S. but Avene is much easier to score. // NUXE Huile Prodigieuse is an iconic dry oil you can spritz in your hair, on your body, face and it even doubles (quadruples?!) as perfume. // By Terry Baume de Rose is celebrating 10 years of being the fanciest lip balm on the planet!

The List: February 2014

February-The-List

Congrats, we survived January. While February is just as wintery, I like it so much more. Related news: I will spend five days this month on a beach in Mexico. That tops my list this month! I’ve also got my eyes on pretty pink beauty and accessories and plan to update my bra wardrobe with everything Free People. Love the back straps on these two.

I’m down for positive reinforcements, especially when they are stamped onto one of my favorite Bobbi Brown products. The Antigua Illuminating Bronzing Powder has never looked so good.  I want everything in Illume’s new “Go Be Lovely” collection for spring. And, this iPhone case by The Everygirl is a must.

Making it my mission to finally master applying falsies this month. ESQIDO mink lashes are the lash extension alternative I’ve been looking for!

I can’t quite commit to shopping for warm weather clothing yet, but lighter versions of my winter staples…YES.  This J.Crew Silk Snood (with poms!) will be mine.

This leather clutch in pink, though the mint and cornflower blue are equally tempting.

NARS Bimini looks like the perfect, wear with everything gloss.

I love every color in Essie’s Resort collection. The plummy Under the Twilight will be the perfect balance to all of these soft pinks!

Pretty Picks: Holiday Sales

How was everyone’s holiday? I’ve been in Wisconsin where it was a very white Christmas. Everything is still soft and fluffy which is a nice change from city snow. I’m enjoying time with the family and extra snuggles with my pup. All with a healthy dose of online browsing (because I just can’t help myself!) Here’s what I’m eyeing up!

Post-Holiday-Sales

Anthropologie is having a killer sale — 25% extra off sale items. Which means these gold monogram mugs are $6. I love this mug and also gave it as a hostess gift and to my mother-in-law. Also, there’s several Deborah Lippmann glitter nail polishes for under $10, including the most perfect emerald and gold polish (perfectly named ‘Shake Your Money Maker’)

Through January 1, Madewell is extra 40% off sale. I adore this iPhone case (translated: well done!)

This Marc Jacobs Luminizing Powder is lovely and more than half off of its original price. Sephora has an extra 20% off sale items as well. I’m also eyeing up this nail polish trio.

It was a Gap cozy scarf holiday in my house. I gifted several and was treated to a few myself. They are so warm and soft. Now I’m eyeing up this blue buffalo plaid, which is an additional 30% off the marked down price through December 30.

How lovely is this jeweled striped top from J. Crew? It’s an extra 40% off meaning it is mine.mine.mine!
