Cover FX Total Cover Cream Foundation

A line I’ve been mildly familiar with in the past is Cover FX. In a nutshell, they make foundations and concealers that cover anything and everything without looking like you’re wearing a ton of makeup and clogging up those pores. Impressive products but somewhat perplexing if you can’t figure out your shade, right?  Those days are no longer, as Cover FX simplified its color classification according to your underlying skin tone. P for Pink, N for Neutral and G for Golden. The lower the number, the lighter the shade.  I discovered my perfect shade in Cover FX Total Cover Cream Foundation by way of a super helpful associate at Sephora. I would have pitted myself square in the neutral range, but I’m actually G30.

It was a total impulse splurge, though this product has quickly escalated into necessity. I love that it is a cream foundation (that doubles as a concealer!) in a compact making it incredibly portable. The coverage is excellent and I just need the tiniest bit. We’re talking flawless, slightly dewy, last all day kinda makeup. There is an applicator in the compact, but my Real Techniques Stippling and Expert Face brushes are my favorite way to apply. No surprise, since these brushes have all but replaced any other foundation brush I have. I’m so impressed with how well this foundation wears and covers. It’s perfect for winter when my skin needs a more creamy formula. Plus, SPF 30! While I always layer on sun protection pre-makeup, I appreciate the extra boost Cover FX added in.

Bonus for those interested in Cover FX, they also have an online shade match system that matches well. Total Cover Cream Foundation is available for $42.
