Chambray Me

PrettyPicks-Chambray

Denim is forever and I hope chambray can be as well. I wear this super soft denim-ish fabric constantly in the spring and summer. It’s been two seasons of nonstop chambray and I have no intentions of stopping there. Madewell does it best with this shirt. This week’s pretty picks are inspired by this uniform, head to toe. Try not to wear at all at once!

My favorite thing in this picture is this LOFT blazer. I saw it on Liz in her Chicago Style Guide and love how she styled it — you could honestly wear it a zillion ways, it’s so versatile. Bring on the white jeans… // Dior’s spring 2014 eye shadow palette, with pale blue and rich cocoa, is inspired by Marie Antoinette and the French Trianon Palace. How very regal. // Deborah Lippmann Blue Orchid is the color of the sky on a sunny day. // A day doesn’t go by without a Twistband of some sort in my hair. Probably a sign I need a haircut. // The Gap has really stepped up their shoe game. Case in point: these Snakeskin Flats. // Speaking on stepping up their game, this Coach Borough Bag in Goldwashed Chambray. It speaks to my compartment-loving soul…THREE zipped sections.

Clicking My (Gold) Heels Over This LOFT Find

Loft-Talia-Sandal

To kick off my week of vacay, I decided to do some shopping and check out the new LOFT concept store that opened up last month on Michigan Ave. I love a good concept store – the layout was fresh and inviting with a glass staircase right in the center that led up to an entire floor of petites. The fitting rooms were equipped with flattering lighting (why can’t all stores figure this out??!) and cool prints of Chicago landmarks. I wasn’t looking for anything particular but zeroed in on the Talia Low Heel Sandal right away. They are a mirror image of the Sam Edelman version I’d been eyeing up. I snagged the last pair in my size! I’m obsessed with the gold heel and the padded insole is a savior for my always achy feet. I will be wearing these with everything this summer. They’ll give me just a smidge of height in a maxi dress, dress up shorts and look amazing with skinny black pants. I’ll even pair them with this romper I also bought at the LOFT. I KNOW, a onesie! Who am I? I’m now contemplating the black and silver pair because they are just so perfect – and a fab deal at $55.
